Kilbury in Nainital

Kilbury is a small town in the District of Nainital that is set at an attitude of 2528 mts above sea level and a trek of 13 km from the main town. Alternatively you can drive up here via easy and well maintained roads.

The town of Kilbury just 590 mts above Nainital is filled with lush green forests that grows Tall Oak, Pine trees and Rhododendrons with the panoramic view of the Himalayan peaks and ranges that stretches parallel and semi-circles this town and also view the Tarai and Bhabhar regions of this town.

It is an ideal place for spending a day or two away from the crowded streets of Nainital if you want solitude and wish to completely immerse yourself within nature's purest form including clouds that float till your knees giving you a feeling like you are floating in thin air. You can also trek here with packed food from Naina Peak to Binayak and Kunjkharak via foot trails filled with thick volumes of Deodar and Oak Trees. The trail route to Kilbury is also famous for bird watching so ensure to take your binoculars and catch glimpses of Wood Owls, White throated laughing Thrushes, Collared Grosbeak, Fork-tails and almost 580 different species of birds that has been seen and recorded here.

Once you reach, you can picnic here so do carry a rug too and after sightseeing you can stay in the forest guest house or lodges available here for relaxing and spending some leisure time with yourself and your family and friends. The next day you can trek back or drive; whichever is more comfortable for you.
